Edge-lit light box
A recent browse of old files has reminded me of my long-overdue dream of having a neon light sign of Cho Kee – my dining brand (ok – just my kitchen). Neon still seems impossible so I have to explore other options. LED edge-lit light box came to my attention and they are performing reasonably well.
The final design will be quad-coloured pseudo neon sign.

I have done some experiments on the off-cut materials and the effects are ok. However, there are several problems that need attention.
- When using single LEDs, a diffuser is needed (I will talk about a cheating method – used in the motorway sign – later)
- Arcylic cannot be wiped by alcohol, otherwise it will crack
